Persib Bandung Officially Introduces Squad for BRI Liga 1 2024/2025

Bojan Hodak, a Croatian football coach, is currently in charge of Persib Bandung. Born on May 4, 1971, in Zagreb, Yugoslavia (now Croatia), Hodak has broad experience in several leagues, especially in Southeast Asia, and brings a unique coaching style and notable track record. Persib Bandung has officially introduced their squad for the BRI Liga 1 2024/2025 season. A total of 30 players were unveiled at the Pesta Rakyat Persib event held at GOR C-Tra Arena, Bandung, on Sunday, August 4, 2024. During the launch event, five new players were presented to the Bobotoh supporters. The new signings include Mateo Kocijan, Dimas Drajad, Adam Alis, Gustavo Franca, and Mailson Lima. Persija Jakarta started their BRI Liga 1 2024/2025 season with a commanding display. The team secured a 3-0 victory over Barito Putera in their opening match of Week 1, played at Jakarta International Stadium on Saturday, August 10, 2024. Gustavo Almeida shone brightly, netting a hat-trick with one goal in the first half and two more in the second. This result places Persija alongside Persib Bandung and PSM Makassar at the top of the table, each having secured significant victories.

In the 2024/2025 season, BRI Liga 1 clubs are permitted to sign up to eight foreign players, with no restrictions on their nationalities. Persebaya Surabaya has signed Darryl Lachman as their seventh foreign player for the season. Initially, Persebaya planned to use only six foreign players, but recent developments led them to recruit Darryl Lachman. Lachman, a 34-year-old central defender, played for Perth Glory in the 2023/2024 season, featuring in 23 matches. He has also played for several Dutch clubs including FC Groningen, PEC Zwolle, FC Twente, Cambuur, and Willem II. The match saw Persija come out aggressively from the start. Almeida opened the scoring in the 11th minute with a header that was deflected by Buyung Ismu. Barito Putera responded by creating several chances but failed to equalize before halftime. Barito Putera continued to press in the second half, but it was Persija who increased their lead with a penalty from Almeida in the 71st minute. Almeida completed his hat-trick with another goal 10 minutes later, securing a 3-0 victory for Persija. The final score of 3-0 held until the end of the match.
